Movesense Sensor Axis Orientations

All Movesense sensors follow the so called "right hand rule" with regards to the sensor axis orietations. This is simple in case of linear sensors such as accelerometer and magnetic field sensor.

When a sensor is held in an orientation where the logo is upright facing to the viewer, the positive X-axis is horizontal and points to the right, the positive Y-axis is vertical and points up, and the positive Z-axis points toward the viewer, out of the logo face.

Gyro

The gyroscope sensor also follows the same definition, but care must be taken to understand what it means. In case of rotating movement that the gyroscope measures the "right hand grip rule" is used:

So when sensor rotatest counter-clocwise looking at it from sticker side (direction of the curled fingers), the rotation axis (thumb) is in the positive Z-axis, and so forth.
