What is Movesense MD?
Movesense MD is a Bluetooth-equipped, Class IIa (MDR) wearable medical device specifically designed for medical applications, solutions, and remote patient monitoring. Medically certified single lead ECG/EKG offers much-desired insights into patients’ heart rhythms, and more. With its built-in Heart Rate Service, it can be used as a medically certified heart rate monitor. Additionally, it offers customization opportunities.
What can I measure with Movesense MD?
The sensor provides clinical-grade one channel ECG, heart rate, heart rate variability, and movement data for analysis.
Who is it for?
It is ideal for tele-health, med-tech and health-tech companies, medical manufacturers, healthcare operators, hospitals, or research institutions looking to integrate an off-the-shelf sensor into their existing health solutions / applications or for those aiming to develop their own commercial medical devices or applications. Movesense MD is a perfect tool for multiple use cases, such as arrhythmia monitoring.
Is the Movesense MD medically certified?
Yes, it is a Class IIa medical device in accordance with Medical Device Regulation (MDR) 2017/745. FDA 510k is on the roadmap and coming up in the future.
What problem does it solve?
If you have an existing health or medical application, or you are developing a new health solution and need to measure physiological data such as ECG, HR, HRV or motion, the Movesense MD is the device for that. You will save time and money as we have manufactured the hardware for you. Movesense MD is Class IIa MDR medically certified, which means that its measurements can be used for health and diagnostic purposes, unlike non-medically certified sports heart rate monitors.
Does the sensor provide raw data?
Yes, the raw ECG measurement data is available from the Movesense MD sensor.
Who owns the data?
You can integrate the Movesense MD sensor into your own application. You own the data, completely and exclusively.

What does customizing opportunities mean?
We can label the sensor with your logo and brand colors. Additionally, the sensor is programmable: you can customize the sensor firmware to meet your needs, and we can change the Bluetooth name to match your brand or product name.
Customization is not mandatory; you can also order an off-the-shelf sensor with the Movesense logo and standard firmware.
Where is it made?
All Movesense sensors are made in Finland, in the European Union.
Is programming necessary to use the Movesense sensor?
Out of box, Movesense MD sensor provides the standard Heart Rate Service, which means that the sensor can be connected to a compatible application without any programming.
To access ECG and other extended functionalities, a simple Bluetooth API integration is needed. Sample source codes are available to speed up the integration.
I need a medically certified heart rate monitor – what do I need to do?

Can I measure ECG from a limb?
With the Movesense sensor, that is not possible. Movesense ECG, HR, and HRV measurements are based on ECG registration from the user’s chest, the ‘golden standard’.
Does Movesense have a NATO NCAGE code?
Yes, we do.
How do I integrate the Movesense MD in my own application?
Movesense provides documentation and sample source codes for integrating ECG/EKG data and other Movesense MD sensor inputs into your own application.
